The Faculty of Sport Science of Bielefeld University invites applications for a position

Professor for Sport Science with main focus on „Organizations in Sports“ (W2, 5 year contract / tenure track W2)

We are looking at an outstanding scientist who covers research as well as teaching with emphasis on „Organizations in Sports” with regard to management, development and coaching in the context of social systems in sports. Third-party funding and internationally relevant research are expected. The position requires research experience regarding organizations in sports. Cooperation with sports clubs, sport federations and/or companies relevant to sports is expected. The processing of gender issues is an advantage. The department expects the de-velopment of a research agenda as well as participation in ongoing and future research cooperation within the faculty and beyond.

Teaching will primarily include participation at the curricula of BA „Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft“ and MA „Organisationsentwicklung und Management“, as well as teacher training. Teaching is held in German language.

Requirements: relevant doctoral degree, ideally in sport science, as well as further excellence research record.

The W2 Professorship is limited to 5 years and includes a tenure track option; an agreement on objectives will be established after the appointment. After a positive evaluation in the final year, the position will be tenured. In an exceptional situation, the tenure evaluation is already possible at an earlier stage.
