W1-Professorship with Tenure Track to W2 for Plant Biotechnology
We are looking for an outstanding early career scientists in the field
of plant biotechnology. We expect a research focus in plant metabolism
and its regulation, i.e. metabolic networks, plant secondary
metabolism, identification and analyses of enzymes, regulators, and
transporters, and a focus on biotechnological application in plants or
algae. We also expect active participation in priority research areas
such as mechanisms in stress acclimation and biocatalysis.
Application requirements are a university degree and PhD in molecular plant physiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, or similar, together with pedagogical aptitude. The position is initially limited to 3 years and will be extended for 3 years after positive intermediate evaluation. A permanent W2 professorship will be awarded after final positive evaluation. Evaluations are regulated according to the statute for tenure track W1 professorships.
W1 tenure tracks are a firmly established equal-opportunity employment variant at Bielefeld University. Tenure track professors are offered a target-group-specific personnel development program providing support when first coming to Bielefeld, in preparing for the interim evaluation, in preparing for the tenure evaluation, and in organizing – after a positive evaluation – the transitional phase to a W2 professorship.
