Junior Professor (W1 Tenure Track W2) in Organic Chemistry and Biocatalysis
We invite applications from career-oriented researchers with a high
potential, who have proven qualifications in organic chemistry and
documented competence in a timely field of biocatalysis. The junior
research group shall focus on research and application of biocatalytic
synthetic routes. The University expects the successful candidate to
cooperate with the existing research groups and to strengthen the
research networks in the field of biocatalysis. The professorship will
contribute to teaching in the fields of chemistry and biochemistry.
Prerequisites for recruitment are a university degree and doctorate, additional scientific achievements in organic chemistry and biocatalysis, which are comprehensively evaluated during the examination procedure, as well as pedagogical aptitude for academic teaching. The special qualification for in-depth scientific work is usually proven by the outstanding quality of the doctorate.
Initially, the recruitment will be limited to 3 years, with the possibility of renewal for a further 3 years after a positive interim evaluation. In the case of a positive tenure evaluation after 6 years, an appointment to a permanent W2 professor is intended (tenure track option). The professorship is being funded by the Federal and States Governments within the framework of the joint program for the promotion of young researchers.
W1 tenure track professorships are firmly established at Bielefeld University. Tenure track professors are being offered a target group specific personnel development program, which provides support in the arrival phase, in the preparation of the interim evaluation, in the preparation of the tenure evaluation and in the case of positive tenure evaluation in the design of the transition phase to the W2 professorship.
Applications from suitably qualified handicapped or severely handicapped candidates are explicitly welcome.
Bielefeld University has received a number of awards for its achievements in the area of equal opportunity and has been acknowledged as a family-friendly university. The university welcomes applications from women. This is particularly true with regard to academic positions. Applications are handled according to the provisions of the State Equal Opportunity Statute.
Applications with the usual documents (curriculum vitae, copies of certificates, list of publications with the ten most important highlighted, description of the scientific career and a 2-page research and teaching concept, information about previous teaching activities and third-party funding, copies of the three most important scientific publications) are to be submitted until Oktober 31, 2018 to
