Professorship (W1 with Tenure Track W3) for Economic Theory
We are looking for outstanding, internationally visible candidates in research and teaching, who work in one of the research areas of the Center for Mathematical Economics, in particular microeconomic theory, game theory, and related fields. Interdisciplinary research and teaching has traditionally played an important role at the Center for Mathematical Economics. We expect you to participate in the existing and planned joint research projects of the Center, the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics and other faculties. In addition, successful third-party funding activities are desired.
The teaching is to be carried out in the economics, mathematical economic and other research-oriented degree programs of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Participation in the doctoral program of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics is welcome.
The employment as Junior Professor (W1) is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for another 3 years after a positive interim evaluation. Upon a final evaluation in the last year, the position can be tenured in as a permanent professorship at the level W3 (tenure track option under the terms of the “Satzung zur Durchführung von W1-Professuren mit Tenure Track an der Universität Bielefeld vom 1. September 2017”).
Candidates must have a university degree in a relevant academic discipline. The ability to carry out research has to be proven by the quality of the doctoral degree, and pedagogical skills are to be proven by appropriate experience or may be established during the appointment procedure.
