at the earliest possible date. This includes the position of Head Department Physician for the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic.
At Bielefeld University, an innovative Medical School with an interdisciplinary individual and population medicine orientation and the University Medical Center East Westphalia Lippe, with the Klinikum Bielefeld, Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel (EvKB), and Klinikum Lippe as holders, are established. Teaching started in the winter semester of 2021/22. We are looking for personalities who want to seize the development situation and its challenges as a chance and actively participate in research, teaching, patient care, and organization. You will be significantly involved in the further planning and implementation of the model study program in human medicine (according to ÄApprO), as well as in implementing the "clinician" and "advanced clinician scientist" programs, and you will have the opportunity to apply innovative concepts in teaching. At the same time, you will take on a significant role in developing an interconnected, inter/nationally competitive research profile "Medicine for people with disabilities and chronic diseases". The call aims at personalities with a promising national and international profile who can represent the field of expertise in research, teaching, and patient care in its entirety.
The prerequisites are:
Clinical research is to be further developed and implemented within the framework of a structure and development concept for the University Medical Center arising with your participation. A further expansion of clinical-translational research of outpatient therapy models is expected as well as the expansion of community-oriented or public mental health research. In addition to the structures of the Outpatient Clinic and the existing research department, a university-wide core facility for MR imaging is currently being established across the faculties and the clinics of the University Medical Center.
We expect networking with other clinics of the University Medical Center East Westphalia Lippe, other faculties of Bielefeld University, and the medical community in private practice in the region. Accordingly, we are looking for a personality with leadership experience and expertise in the entire field and excellent communication and coordination skills.
The University Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at CBB with its 436 beds and day clinic places is the largest clinic in the region as well as in the University Medical Center East Westphalia Lippe and serves the entire city of Bielefeld in the sense of an Epidemiologic Catchment Area. The clinic academically integrates the Clinic for Psychotherapeutic and Psychosomatic Medicine. The clinic’s spectrum covers the psychiatry and psychotherapy in its entirety and is organized into specialized focus areas. There is a strong community psychiatric orientation with numerous cooperation partners and participation in numerous committees of the city. Psychotherapy and neuropsychiatric-neurophysiological specialties are also strong. Close clinical cooperation exists with the areas of expertise in Neuromedicine and Inclusive Medicine at EvKB and Mara hospital. The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic with its interdisciplinary team treats about 12.000 to 13.000 patients and has a number of different specialized consultations and conducts outreach work in some cases. It is also planned to integrate the station-equivalent treatment here.

The tasks within patient care will be regulated via a contract with the Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel gGmbH (EvKB). The equipment of the W2 professorship is coordinated by the call holder with the W3 professorship for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics located at the EvKB and the responsible body.
The EvKB warrants that the professorship holder is released from patient care tasks – in a reasonable scope – and can conduct independent research.
