Professorship for Ear-Nose-Throat Medicine (W3)
as a leadership position at the Campus Klinikum Bielefeld as soon as possible
At Bielefeld University, an innovative Medical School with an interdisciplinary individual and population medicine orientation and the University Medical Center OWL (UMC OWL), with the Klinikum Bielefeld, Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel (EvKB), and Klinikum Lippe as holders, are established. At the same time, you will take on a significant role in developing an interconnected, inter/nationally competitive research profile "Medicine for people with disabilities and chronic diseases".

Qualifications required for the position:
- specialist qualification for Ear-Nose-Throat Medicine
- relevant doctorate, with additional scientific achievements according to § 36 paras. 1; no. 4 HG NRW
- high-ranking scientific achievements demonstrated through publications and third-party funding
- extensive surgical experience including modern procedures
- extensive clinical experience as well as leadership experience
- alignment with the research profile of the Medical School OWL
- extensive teaching experience and experience with innovative teaching formats in the subject to be represented
- experience and active participation in the equality-oriented promotion of young scientists.
With 3 locations and 2 MVZs, Klinikum Bielefeld is a municipally run hospital providing maximum care for the clinical diagnosis, treatment and care of patients extending far beyond the local area of the city of Bielefeld. A major area of focus of the hospital is oncology: the Oncology Centre at Klinikum Bielefeld is included in the hospital plan of North Rhine-Westphalia and is certified according to the criteria of the German Cancer Society.
In this position, you will be leading the Department of Ear-Nose-Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery at the Campus Klinikum Bielefeld, University Medical Center OWL of Bielefeld University. We are expecting high-level scientific expertise in a modern research field within the domain of Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Medicine. In addition, you will assume responsibility for the strategic development and implementation of the Department of Ear-Nose-Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery including management and achieving results: The department covers the entire spectrum of ENT Medicine with a particular focus on head and neck tumors (Head and Neck Tumor Center Klinikum Bielefeld-Mitte / Center for robot-assisted surgery at Klinikum Bielefeld) as well as neurootology. Research is also currently focused on inflammatory mechanisms in the middle ear and paranasal sinuses as well as hearing physiology (Cochlea Implantates).
We expect close collaboration with other departments of the UMC OWL, other faculties of Bielefeld University, and the medical community in private practice in the region OWL. Therefore, we are looking for an individual with leadership experience and expertise in the entire field of ENT Medicine along with excellent communication and coordination skills.

The duties of the professorship are expected to be carried out under a private-law employment contract with the University, in accordance with the requirements for employment outlined in § 36 HG. The tasks within patient care, including the right to liquidation, will be regulated via a contract for chief physicians with the Klinikum Bielefeld.
