About BiCDaS
The Bielefeld Center for Data Science (BiCDaS) was founded in 2017 by the members of the round table on data science. It is a horizontal institution traversing all faculties and disciplines. Its mission is to unlock the potentials data has in an academic context and it aspires to an integrative role throughout Bielefeld University.
BiCDaS counts on its members, people coming from all faculties and various institutions; their willingness to exchange experiences, knowledge, and challenges across disciplines makes them BiCDaS’s most valuable asset. They meet regularly to discuss and initiate strategic measures and the BiCDaS director implements these decisions and promotes further strategic development. He is also first point of contact should you have questions about BiCDaS.
Data science is a trending topic. As BiCDaS's awareness level rises, we are more and more frequently approached by external partners, i.e. from economy and industry, for public/private partnerships. We are happy to bring BiCDaS's researchers into contact with these firms, hoping for exciting opportunities to arise.
The development and activities of BiCDaS are critically supported by the advisory board. This board consists of renowned researchers from different fields who display the diversity of BiCDaS. In case you want to know more, please do not hesitate to contact us!
