The BiGSEM doctoral candidates are going to host their
18th BiGSEM Doctoral Workshop on Economics and Management
on December 4-5, 2023, at ZiF (Center for Interdisciplinary Research), Bielefeld
This international workshop, entirely organized by BiGSEM candidates, aims to provide doctoral candidates in economics and management with an opportunity to present their research and discuss its method and content in progress with peers and researchers in an informal atmosphere. In this way participants can talk about new developments in their field and establish contacts in a research network.

We would like to bring to your attention the upcoming “18th BiGSEM Doctoral Workshop on Economics and Management”. Organized by Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management (BiGSEM) doctoral candidates, it is aimed at bringing together doctoral candidates (in economics, management, and operations research) by providing an opportunity for presenting and discussing their research (with peers and established researchers) in an informal atmosphere. For participation in the workshop, we are currently accepting applications. Hence, we kindly ask you to forward the announcement below, as well as the attached files, to anyone who might be interested in participation or attending the workshop. In case you want to post an announcement and pass the flyers to your institution, we will be happy to send them to you.

By train:
Every hour an intercity train on the route from Cologne/Bonn to Berlin stops at Bielefeld Hbf. Then you take "Stadtbahnlinie 4" with direction "Lohmannshof" or "Universität" till "Universität" (7 minutes).
By car:
From the north: You can take the A2 from Hanover to Dortmund, exit at "Bielefeld-Zentrum", follow the street signs towards the centre ("Zentrum"), and from there the University ("Universität") is signposted.
From the south: You can take the A2 from Dortmund to Hanover. At "Dreieck Bielefeld" on the A33 towards "Bielefeld Zentrum", exit "Bielefeld Zentrum", towards Zentrum on the B61, exit "Universität", way over Stapenhorststr., Kurt-Schumacher-Str. (is signposted).
Travel by air:
The nearest international airports are Hanover (110 km), Düsseldorf (190 km) and Frankfurt (320 km). In Düsseldorf and Frankfurt there are train stations in the airport, Bielefeld can be reached from these and any other major town by trains runnin on an hourly schedule (IC or ICE on the train schedule).

In the following, you find some hotels you can book for your stay in Bielefeld. Please note that costs for accommodation and travel may be refunded (partly or completely) after your stay in Bielefeld. In case of any troubles with the booking, please do not hesitate to contact us.
