Master students in the MA programs Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Wirtschaftsmathematik or Quantitative Economics, who are interested in writing a Master Thesis on a topic close to one of the ETACE areas of interest, are welcome to directly contact a potential thesis supervisor to discuss the topic in more detail. Areas of interest include

  • Economics of innovation and technological change
  • Industrial dynamics
  • Dynamic investment under uncertainty (e.g. Real Options)
  • Dynamic models of economic effects of pandemic containment measures
  • Firm behavior under financial constraints
  • Agent-based simulation of (macro-)economic dynamics
  • Dynamic competition and strategic interaction

It is expected and highly recommended that students intending to write a MA thesis at the ETACE chair attend one or several of the master-level courses that are offered by ETACE members and are relevant for the intended thesis topic. While working on their MA thesis students have regular meetings with their supervisor and give two oral presentations of the status of their work in order to receive feedback from other ETACE members and MA students.
